A Little Bit Of An Overindulgence

The Memorial Day Holiday has come and gone.....and so has the over-eating!!!!  Thank God!  I ate a little too much during the long weekend. I had cupcakes, ice cream, pieces of a soft pretzel, hot dogs, chocolate......, etc.  But, I did manage to get some cardio in.  On Saturday, I rode the bike on the trainer for 30 minutes in the steamy hot garage.  The sweat was pouring off of me in buckets.  At any rate, I felt really good once I was finished.
This morning I had my session with the Trainer.  He had me doing a weight circuit type of thing.  I had to complete one exercise and then move to the other within a 15 second time frame.  It was intense and I loved every minute of it.  We worked on arms, chest, legs, abs, and shoulders.  I was really sweating by the time it was all said and done.  And I could tell that my heart rate was up which was great.
Well, gotta get some work done.  Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.

One Hot Saturday

Boy is it hot outside....whew!!!  I had some errands to run earlier in the day.  Now I'm headed to the gym to do some cardio and weights.  I hope it isn't crowded.  I think everyone is at the beach anyway.  Later we are having a cookout so I better get going before I change my mind about going to the gym.
What's everyone else up to on this Memorial Day weekend?
Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.

Changing It Up A Bit

I decided to change things up a bit this morning.  Instead of going inside to the gym for my cardio, I decided to ride my bike outside around the office.  I was going to ride to this one elementary school I saw, but it was a little too far. Especially since this was my first outside ride of the season.  So I rode around the office building and down to the Golf Course entrance.  There was a hill that really challenged me on the way back.  But, I DID NOT quit!!!!  I toughed it out.  As a matter of fact, I keep on riding and rode for a total of 35 minutes!  It was great!  I think I will make this my new Friday routine especially if its nice weather.  It was funny because when I came back into the office to get my shower several people stopped me to ask if it was me out there riding.  One woman even came up to me and said she was jealous because I was out there.  :-)  I feel good today too.  That ride was really just what I needed to get my Friday started.
Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.

Workout #3

Whew!!!!  My Personal Trainer is officially kicking my butt!!!!  I'm typing this with my arms still shaking because of the exercises he had me doing this morning.  I'm sure I will not be able to walk later.  We did arms, legs, shoulders, and chest.  He had me doing steps that were so high I thought I was going to go insane.  I love him though.  He is good and knows what he is doing.  I am sitting here trying to fuel my body with an egg white omelette that has spinach, tomato, feta cheese, and avocado.  Its pretty tasty.
That's all for now.  Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.

Determined not to miss another event

I am so upset that I missed Fitbloggin'!!!  Based on some of the blog comments and postings that I have read, it looks like everyone had such a great time.  I was really bummed until I read that the Healthy Living Summit would be in August and not only that, but that it will be in Philly!!!!  Yippee!!!  That is so close to me.  I will definitely be attending.  I cannot miss another event like this.  I am also keeping my eyes and ears on open for when the next Fitbloggin' event will be.  I am going to make it a point to attend.  It seems like such a good time was had with all the bloggers.  I can imagine it would be nice to actually meet the people responsible for the blogs that I follow.
I dragged myself to the gym this morning.  I did not want to go AT ALL.  But I went in and did a couple of minutes on the stairmaster and 20 minutes on the bike.  Then I called it a morning because I just was not into it.  Kudos to me though for toughing it out and going there.  I know I will feel much better today because I was able to get some exercise in.
Ok, gotta go!  Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.

Workout #2

I was feeling good about having my second workout session with the Trainer.  Let me tell you...he kicked my butt!!!!  And I LOVED every second of it!!!  We worked on abs, legs, chest, upper back, and arms.  My arms were shaking by the time we were finished.  Today I am sore but I know that it is a good sore.  I am excited about seeing some results.  I really like the guy who is training me.  He is a great motivator and also very upbeat and friendly...but then again I guess that is his job.  :-)
When I was finished working out, I was craving fruit.  Is that weird???  I went to the cafeteria and got some yogurt with strawberries and catalope.  I had a banana at my desk.  I was chugging water like there was no tomorrow.  The urge to eat healthy stayed with me throughout the day.  I don't want to sabotage my workouts with unhealthy eating.  I had to stop my WW meetings for now so that I could afford the Personal Trainer, but I am still sticking to the Points Plus system.  I will keep you informed on how this is working.
Until next time, stay strong and be healthy.

First Day and I Survived

So I come back from vacation on Monday anxious to get back to my workouts.  It was a struggle to get out of bed and into the gym by 6am, but I pushed and I made it.  I did my 30 minutes on the bike and then decided to take it easy since Tuesday would be the big day.
Well, Tuesday came and it was time to workout with the Trainer.  I LOVED it!!!!  He was fantastic and really explained all that we were doing and why we were doing it.  We worked on legs, chest, back, and arms.  He explained that Thursday we will be doing ABS...ugh!!!!! Anyway, when I woke up this morning, I thought I'd be sore and unable to move my arms.  Surprisingly enough I am ok.  I mean I am sore but I am functioning.  I am able to walk and lift things without feeling like I have the weight of the world on my arms.  My legs feel strong too and I am saying this after I was on the elliptical for 6 mins and the bike for 20 mins this morning.  So, I think that I will be making some progress.  I hope to lose another 20 lbs by July.
Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.  Oh, by the way, I am so upset that I will not be attending Fitbloggin' this weekend.  I have been keeping up with the website and it looks like its going to be so much fun.  Maybe I will be able to attend next year.  Is anyone going?

No Stress Vacation and Promise Of A Bike Ride

A friend of mine called me yesterday and said that he wanted to take me out for a nice bike ride along Kelly Dr in Philly.  I was/am SOOOO excited because I was just thinking the other day that I wanted to ride down there.  However, I have never done it and wasn't sure where I would park, who I would ask to go with me and when I would be able to go.  So, since he has done it before, all I have to worry about is when we will be able to go.  I am going on vacation for a week but as soon as I get back you best believe I am calling him to set a date!
Speaking of vacation...I know that the food choices won't be the best.  I have decided that I am going to have fun and relax.  I am not going to stress about whether or not I am making good food choices during the entire week that I am away.  I will however, remain conscious of what I am eating but I do know that I will splurge on something at least one or two days.  When I return, I will get back on track.  I will also be starting with the personal trainer so I know that everything will fall back into place and I will be ok.
Can't wait to enjoy my much needed vacation!  Also looking forward to coming back and going on my much anticipated bike ride.  Until next time, eat healthy and stay strong.

Personal Trainer

Wow, its been quite awhile since I posted here.  I'm still on this journey, but sometimes life gets in the way.  I have still been going to the gym every morning.  I was able to talk to the Personal Trainer and we are going to start our sessions in about two weeks.  I will work with him twice a week and then work on my own the other three days.  My goal that I have in working with the Tainer is to jump start my weight loss again.  I have been stuck in a lull for awhile now and I need some extra umph to add to my workouts.  I am extremely excited, yet at the same time I am a little bit afraid.  I know that I try to push myself as much as possible when I workout, but having someone else push me is kinda scary.  I can't wait though.
In the eating department, I am doing so-so.  Some days I am a champ and other days I am a chump because  I go way overboard.  I get bored and then I eat, I get stressed and then I eat, and when I eat during these times, it is never anything nutritious.  I am working to break that habit.  I didn't lose 28lbs only to gain it all back by some foolishness.
Well, I will keep you updated on my progress.  I hope people are still reading this blog.  It really is something that I am going to continue to use to help keep me accountable.  Until next time, stay strong and eat healthy.
